Sylvia Chiu’s practice is focused on products and general liability litigation. Sylvia is an aggressive litigator and has consistently obtained favorable results for her clients. She has represented manufacturers of food products, heavy machinery, vertical transportation, and other technical products. She has also defended corporate clients in catastrophic personal injury matters involving power-line electrocution, auto accidents, and fall injuries. In December 2013, Sylvia successfully completed a five-week trial training as part of the Traditional Trial Advocacy Project (t-TAP) with the Los Angeles County Bar Association. In November 2014, Sylvia first-chaired two trials at the City Attorney’s Office as part of the trial practicum requirement with t-TAP.

Sylvia graduated cum laude from Southwestern Law School where she served as an Associate Editor of the Southwestern Law Review and a Board Member of the Trail Advocacy Honors Program. She received CALI awards for receiving the highest grade in Mass Tort Litigation, Federal Courts, and Constitutional Criminal Procedure. Sylvia externed with the U.S. District Court, Central District of California, for the Honorable Philip S. Gutierrez. She also served as a judicial extern with the Supreme Court of Argentina for the Honorable Juan Carlos Maqueda.
