As a result of his repeated retention in the most difficult, high exposure cases in California and Colorado, Dana Fox has become one the most heralded trial attorneys, consistently obtaining results not thought possible for his clients, including multiple defense jury verdicts in prominent cases. Mr. Fox, who holds an elevated rank of Advocate with The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), has developed a reputation as the "go-to" attorney in high profile, high exposure police use of force, premises and product liability, public entity, and general liability cases. In 2013, Mr. Fox was named one of the top 100 attorneys in California by The Los Angeles Daily Journal, and this year was honored with an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest rating available. He has defended and tried many complex and high profile cases, including the Santa Monica Farmers' Market litigation (which involved 36 coordinated actions arising from an errant vehicle that drove through a farmers market). Highlighting his current reputation is his role as lead counsel for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Frank McCourt in the litigation resulting from the assault of a spectator after a Dodgers game in 2011. Mr. Fox was also responsible for a summary judgment decision for the defense in Tang v. AEG, covered widely by Los Angeles media outlets, involving a two-year-old’s fatal fall from a luxury suite after a Lakers game.
Mr. Fox has tried to verdict cases involving wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, paralysis and similar catastrophic injuries. He has tried to verdict police use of force, product liability, transportation (including trucking and light rail), premises owner/premises liability and construction site accident cases. He has lectured on defending police officers in use of force actions, catastrophic case evaluation, jury selection, defending high exposure cases, and opening and closing argument presentation.
Mr. Fox is the Co-Chair of the General Liability Practice Group.
