Todd Gray is the managing partner in the Pittsburgh office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Transportation and Products Liability Practices. He specializes in defending catastrophic injury cases of all types, as well as, other cases with significant exposure in multiple jurisdictions. Mr. Gray’s cases often carry eight-figure exposure, and place him in notoriously unfriendly venues against some of the most successful lawyers in the country.  This is not only a testament to his abilities as a trial lawyer, but also demonstrates the level of trust his clients place in him.

Mr. Gray began his career successfully defending many healthcare providers sued for malpractice including hospitals, nursing homes, doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, chiropractors and dentists. At one point early in his career, Mr. Gray successfully defended back-to-back medical malpractice cases at trial within a 30-day period, where each involved ventilator-dependent quadriplegic plaintiffs. This type of skill and experience created a demand for Mr. Gray in other areas of the law.  He began successfully defending manufacturers of all types of products including automobile and automotive components, forklifts, wood chippers, custom industrial equipment, recreation vehicles, hoists, cranes, lifts and booms, bolts and screws, commercial signs, and small appliances, just to name a few. For example, Mr. Gray has successfully defended two of the “Big Three” automotive manufacturers at trial on multiple occasions. While Mr. Gray’s practice still includes medical malpractice and products liability litigation, the transportation industry came calling several years ago, and since then, the majority of his focus has been on defending trucking companies in cases involving death and catastrophic injury.

Mr. Gray is a 1995 graduate of Eastern Michigan University. As a sophomore at Eastern Michigan, he was elected to the Ypsilanti City Council and became the youngest person ever elected to public office in the state of Michigan at that time. Mr. Gray then attended the University of Toledo College Of Law, where he served as Moot Court Vice Chairman and graduated Cum Laude in 1999.
