Christina Guerin practices in the areas of professional liability and employment. In addition, Ms. Guerin handles a wide variety of general liability matters.
Ms. Guerin’s professional liability practice focuses on the defense of attorneys and accountants. Ms. Guerin defends professionals in other practice areas as well, including insurance agents and brokers, and real estate agents. Ms. Guerin has obtained judgment in favor of numerous professional liability clients, from demurrers sustained without leave to amend, to anti-SLAPP motions and motions for summary judgment, and through binding arbitration. Ms. Guerin has extensive experience in defending claims for malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, malicious prosecution, fraud, unfair business practices, and related claims. Ms. Guerin also has experience representing accountants in investigations conducted by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission relating to the accountant/accountancy firm’s audit of third parties.
Ms. Guerin’s employment practice focuses on the defense of both private and public entity employers in discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination claims. Ms. Guerin’s experience handling employment matters includes representation of employers before the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, in state court and in arbitration, and in pre-litigation resolution. Beyond her litigation experience, Ms. Guerin has experience counseling and assisting employers in a wide variety of matters, including proper termination procedures, resolution of employee disputes, and drafting employee handbooks and risk management protocols.
Ms. Guerin’s practice includes all aspects of litigation, from pre-litigation claim resolution through trial and appeal.
