Lauren A. Jones is a partner in the New York office of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, LLP. She is admitted to the New York State Bar. She is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Ms. Jones’ practice focuses on the defense of complex civil and commercial matters in State and Federal Court in the fields of premises liability, miscellaneous professional liability claims involving social services and foster care agencies, and schools, She also handles claims involving long-term care providers in skilled nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and rehabilitation centers. Ms. Jones also practices in the area of toxic torts and medical malpractice, providing litigation counsel to insurance companies, building owners and physicians/hospitals and other corporate entities while defending against personal injury claims.
Ms. Jones graduated from Duke University in 2005, receiving a B.A. in Political Science and a Certificate in Markets and Management. In 2008, Ms. Jones received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she concentrated her studies in Litigation and Legal Writing . While at Brooklyn Law, Ms. Jones was selected to participate in the Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Team in 2006 and was inducted into the Moot Court Honor Society in 2007. While in law school, Ms. Jones was also selected to work as a student law clerk for the Honorable John Ingram.
She is an active member of The Claims & Litigation Management Alliance where she serves on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the NYC Chapter. She is also a member for the Association for Black Women Attorneys as well as Metropolitan Black Bar Association. She is also on the Brooklyn Law School Alumni Admissions Board. Outside of the office, Ms. Jones volunteers as a mentor for Legal Outreach, a program which strives to promote legal careers to current high school students.
