Eric Y. Kizirian is the Co-Chair of firm’s Class Action and Mass Torts practice group and is based in the Los Angeles office. He has broad experience in the defense and management of purported class actions and other forms of aggregated litigation for major corporations in various industries and involving many areas of substantive law.
In the last five years alone, Eric has been the lead counsel in the defense of over forty-five putative class actions asserting claims for violations of various consumer protection and warranty laws, including California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act, Unfair Competition Law, and Song Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. Although his experience includes the defense of putative class actions filed against corporations in the medical product, consumer product, technology and insurance industries, Eric has special expertise in defending putative class actions against automobile manufacturers. Throughout his career, he has defended putative class actions filed against BMW, Hyundai, Honda, Maserati, and General Motors. Eric’s class action decisions include Mazza v. American Honda Motor Co., 666 F.3d 581 (9th Cir. 2012) and Daugherty v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc., 144 Cal. App. 4th 823 (2006), which have had a profound impact on class action litigation seeking relief under California’s consumer protection laws. Eric also has significant experience representing automobile manufacturers in protests and other disputes before the California New Motor Vehicle Board.
Eric is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Law at his alma matter, Southwestern University School of Law, where he teaches a course on Civil Pretrial Practice.
