Kathleen Maynard, an attorney in the firm's New Orleans office, has extensive litigation experience, having advised and represented clients across Louisiana, Nevada and Maryland in state and federal courts. Ms. Maynard has defended clients in single party, complex multi-party, and class action cases. She has argued multiple dispositive motions on behalf of clients that have resulted in summary dismissals of actions. Ms. Maynard primarily focuses on general liability cases alleging negligence and liability for unsafe premises, as well as toxic and environmental torts, medical malpractice and products liability. She also has successfully defended numerous cases brought under the federal ERISA statute, as well as state and federal lawsuits alleging breaches of life, health and disability insurance policies. Ms. Maynard has defended consumer litigation lawsuits alleging violations of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act and claims arising under corresponding state law. Kathleen has successfully defended casinos with an international presence, large retail establishments, manufacturers and regional property management companies, among other corporate clients, in a wide array of matters ranging from alleged security guard negligence, construction defects, and defective products to disputes arising under commercial contracts. In addition, Ms. Maynard was as an arbitrator for the Court Annexed Arbitration program for the Eighth Judicial District Court for Clark County, Nevada and served as a board member and president of the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys.
