Sian Schafle is a partner in the Data Privacy and Network Security practice group. When a data security event has occurred, Ms. Schafle assists clients in determining the manner in which the intrusion took place; identifying the individuals whose information was accessed; determining what state, federal and foreign laws govern the client's notice of the incident; and preparing legally sufficient notices to affected individuals and appropriate regulators. Ms. Schafle also provides pre-security event privacy and data security services, including document preservation, assessment of a company’s forensic and legal vulnerability as well as recommendations for proactive measures to address and mitigate risk. Ms. Schafle assists clients in coordinating in-house compliance and training programs on these services.
