Alecia Walters-Hinds is an experienced litigation attorney whose practice focuses on civil litigation in the State and Federal Courts of New York. Her practice areas include motor vehicle (personal and commercial), wrongful deaths, premises, construction, labor law, dram shop, toxic tort and property damage.

She has successfully tried cases in Kings, New York, Bronx, Queens and in the Southern and Eastern District of New York.  She has obtained defense verdicts, directed verdicts and verdicts awarding minimal damages.  In addition, she has mediated and handled the negotiation of favorable settlements both before and during trial.

Ms. Walters-Hinds was an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the New York City Law Department. While employed by the City of New York, she represented city agencies and employees in labor, employment and civil rights litigation in state and federal court. She also defended city agencies and employees in Article 78 special proceedings. Finally, she represented the City of New York in general liability actions at trial and was featured on New York Law Journal’s Back Page.

After leaving the New York City Law Department, she became associated with a large insurance defense firm. At the firm, she defended general liability and Labor Law lawsuits in all phases of litigation including trial in counties of Kings, Queens, New York and Bronx.

She was also an in-house counsel and trial attorney for the New York Liquidation Bureau. While at the Liquidation Bureau, she specialized in the defense of premises liability, lead-based paint litigation, negligent security, construction and motor vehicle accidents. She also tried cases in counties of Kings, Queens, New York and Bronx.
